Awapuni Kindergarten
About Us
Kia Ora and welcome to Awapuni Kindergarten, an inclusive learning environment where parents and whanau are valued as partners in their children's learning.
Our teachers believe in establishing strong, non-judgmental, reciprocal relationships with children, their whanau, the wider community and each other.
Situated off the road with plenty of parking, we share a driveway with Kohanga Reo O Awapuni and Alexander Park and are in proximity to Awapuni School. Our relationships with the school and kohanga allow for shared activities and events, enriching and extending children's learning and easing the transition to primary.
Our developing ICT area is a place where whanau can join their children to share knowledge and discoveries. We currently use digital microscopes to examine aspects of the natural environment and provide digital cameras for children's use.
Children's emotional wellbeing is supported in a climate of trust. We recognise and celebrate our bicultural heritage as well as sharing knowledge from a variety of other cultures.
We're proud recipients of The Heart Foundation's Healthy Heart Award. A kindergarten vegetable garden and orchard helps us learn about healthy practices and develop an appreciation for the natural environment.
We look forward to welcoming you and your child into our community of learners.
We currently have sessions available for three-year-olds! Contact the Awapuni teaching team to enrol your child today.
