Kindergarten is one of two kindergartens located in the Tararua town of
Pahiatua.
We run a child-centred, free choice programme, which is based on meeting the needs of the children and extending on their interests and strengths. Each session includes a whanau time where children develop the skills needed to work within in larger group.
We run a multi-faceted planning system, which includes a whole centre development plan, a core curriculum plan, an individual education plan for each child in the morning session and an umbrella term plan. These are all combined in our weekly planning along with experiences planned from written observations of the children's work each day.
Profiles are kept to document the children's progress throughout their time at kindergarten and these are given to the children when they leave.
