Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 8.30am - 2.30pm
Wednesday and Friday: 8.15am - 12.30pm.
Fee: Use "20 hours free" or $1.00 per hour plus GST
Kindergarten profile:
Linton Area Kindergarten is situated near Linton Army Camp, 10km from Palmerston North. The majority of families / whanau attending the kindergarten are based at the army camp, while a smaller promotion are farming families from the surrounding Linton and Tokomaru rural areas.
We believe that children should have opportunities available to explore through language, play and creativity.
We believe in working in partnership with families / whanau within a welcoming, relaxed and safe early childhood environment. We also believe that the teachers should work as a team and have skills in effective communication, be patient, understanding and non-judgemental, and have a sense of humour.
An individual programme is developed for each child to extend their interests and needs. The Early Childhood Curriculum, Te Whaariki, guides us in our programme planning. A profile of each child's development is compiled during their time at kindergarten.
Parents are very welcome at our kindergarten and we welcome any level of involvement. The kindergarten provides a supportive environment for many parents, particularly during times of deployment, when sole parenting is a challenge. The well-being of children and their families is of great importance to us, and this is reflected in our welcoming and nurturing environment.
