Kindergarten profile:

Manchester Kindergarten is situated in Feilding adjacent to Manchester Street School, which many of our children go on to attend.

Diversity is a characteristic of our kindergarten community. This is reflected through families of varying socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, as well as differing family unit structures.

The kindergarten is well resourced to meet the development needs of all children, and a supportive community enables continual updating of resources. We also have a playgroup to meet the needs of children and families on our waiting list.

Our team philosophy emphasises that we believe that it is important to build relationships with children in an environment where children can learn to develop and learn by using quality resources, exploring the ecological / natural environment and playing in an environment that is planned to meet the needs of the whole child.

The principles of Te Whaariki (empowerment, holistic development, family and community and relationships) form the base of our curriculum. We value the partnership between staff, parent / guardian and family / whanau.

Families are encouraged to participate in both educational workshops provided by staff and fundraising activities organised by our committee, like sausage sizzles, a "wheelathon" and various other activities.

You are welcome to come and visit us any time during term times.
