Kindergarten profile:
Milson Kindergarten, situated behind Milson School, is set among mature trees and has an inviting outdoor and indoor environment.
Our programme is implemented in accordance with Te Whaariki, the national curriculum, and portfolios of the children's learning and experiences are treasured by the children and their family / whanau.
Our philosophy is to provide a caring and fun environment for all children and their families. We aim to provide opportunities for spontaneous and structured learning experiences that are sensitive to ethnicity, gender and the ability of children and their whanau.
Our welcoming and relaxed learning environment will nurture the children as they develop skills and knowledge for growth now and in the future. Children's confidence, security, self-esteem and independence are paramount to both the staff and community.
The Milson Kindergarten families and community are an integral part of the kindergarten programme and their contribution is valued. Emphasis is placed on the importance of partnerships with families / whanau.
Other exciting events that make up the uniqueness of the Milson Kindergarten include our annual fancy dress disco, "Freezy Friday", "Groovy Green Day" and "Breakfast in PJs" at the kindergarten.
