West End Kindergarten - where children discover an environment rich in experiences and opportunities that extend and build on their enthusiasm for learning.

Sessions: Monday to Friday: 8.15 am - 12.30 pm
Our kindergarten is unique in Palmerston North as we offer five four and a quarter hour morning sessions per week.
Three and four year old children attend sessions together. Most four year olds attend five days a week and three year olds usually attend three days a week.
We Offer

Not sure where we are?
If you are driving from the square travel down Main Sreet towards Longburn until it turns into Pioneer Highway. Go past Botanical Road and turn left into Cardiff Street (the first turn on your left). Turn right into Wakefield Street. Salford Place is the first cul-de-sac on your right.
Alternatively drive down Ferguson Street which merges with Rugby Street. Continue along Rugby Street, on your right you will see some shops (a dairy and fish and chip shop). Turn right into Wakefield Street and then left into Salford Place.

At West End Kindergarten we provide an environment that is welcoming, vibrant and fun. We believe in empowering children to work cooperatively and build positive relationships to create a culture where children and adults interact and learn together.
We encourage children to become confident learners with a secure sense of belonging by affirming their strengths and interests and by valuing their ideas and achievements. We value building supportive, respectful and reciprocal relationships with our children, families/whanau and community.
We believe our role as teachers is to use a responsive approach to support children's learning. We empower children to set their own goals and extend their ideas and interests. We plan, document and reflect on learning collaboratively using Te Whariki and current theory and practise. We extend our knowledge as a teaching team through ongoing dialogue and professional development.
We recognise the importance of our bi-cultural heritage and acknowledge children's cultural backgrounds in our teaching practises. We work actively to promote equity and positive attitudes to diversity.
